Wedding Gowns with Sleeves on Clearance!

Much to my surprise, I found that Light-in-the-Box has some amazing clearances going on right now for wedding gowns, including an unparalleled selection of gowns with sleeves. Yes, sleeves are back in style for modern wedding gowns! I've always loved the look of sleeves even though I have nothing against many sleeveless styles. The coverage of sleeves is nice, of course, but I also have always appreciated how a bodice with sleeves aesthetically balances the bottom of the dress better than many strapless or sleeveless dresses.

Many of the dresses below are elegant, classic, and modern styles, some of them playful like styles found during the roaring 50s, others are reminiscent of Lady Jane Grey or Queen Elizabeth. Others look like a dress Galadrial or Arwen would wear. Some are simply modern, but sweet. You'll find sleeves of all lengths and shapes below, from capped sleeves to long, shear to double-lined satin, ruffled or bell-shaped to slim and straight.

There is also an array of dress and skirt styles, including ball gown, tea length, mermaid, A-line, side-draped, column, straight, and chapel train! I didn't even have room to include all the sleeved dresses on sale at Light in the Box, so be sure to browse their site yourself.

A short sleeved, scoop necked top flows into a slim A-line with delicate lace detail and organza over Satin for $150.

A fun, full skirt (hangs straight unless you twirl) that reaches just below the knees, with boatneck top and quarter length sleeves is on clearance for $125.

A-line Strapless Floor-length Satin Organza Wedding Dress With Wrap (below)

Actually a strapless dress, this full A-line with luscious organza comes with a short sleeved matching bolero and is selling for $200.

Trumpet / Mermaid Court Train Taffeta Side-Draped Wedding Dress With Wrap (below)

A simple but graceful side wrap skirt pools into a rumpled train and comes with a matching bolero with elbow length sleeves to top off this strapless dress. On sale for $174

A-line Off-the-shoulder Chapel Train Long Sleeve Satin Wedding Dress With Beaded Appliques (below)

This dress skipped the straps but went for the sheer sleeves just off the shoulder, and is on sale for $240.

A-Line / Princess Princess Scoop Court Train Taffeta Wedding Dress With Beaded Appliques (below)

Capped sleeves and a gentle scooped neck are complemented by a crisscross wrap around the waist.

 Is on sale for $250.

Ball Gown V-neck Long Sleeves Chapel Train Satin Wedding Dress (below)

For drama and pouf, there's nothing like this ball-gown style wedding dress with long lace sleeves and a low V neck, for sale at $350.

This dress reminds me of Maria vonTrapp's green chiffon dress  in The Sound of Music, only it's more up-to-date and girlish. Perhaps it's the gentle ruffle that defines the V-neck and continues it's way just over the shoulders, or perhaps it's the flowing and summery chiffon and the neat, trim little waistline, ruched just a bit for feminine sweetness. On sale for $150.

This is almost a sleeveless, but definitely has more coverage than most sleeveless, so I decided to include it anyway. Cute gathers at both the neckline and the top and the short length make this a cheerful, light dress for a more casual wedding. This is the cheapest wedding dress yet, on sale for $80!

Strapless Satin Trumpet / Mermaid Wedding Dresses with Lace Jacket (below)

The lace jacket with long sleeves sweeps all the way to the floor into a wide, circular train, adding sheer sleeves to this strapless dress. On sale for $200.

These are the sigh-worthy sleeves that belong on the wedding dress of an elvish princess. The slim and sheer sleeve style bells at the elbow and complements the long, slim chiffon skirt. On sale for $150.

Ball Gown Scoop Half-Sleeve Court Train Satin Wedding Dress with Split Front (below)

My only wish for this dress is that the bodice was not quite so simple. Other than that, the length of the sleeves is just right, and the skirt itself is a renaissance dream, with a split front and flowing train. On sale for $250.

Sheath/ Column Court Train Satin Lace Wedding Dress (below)

Another long lace sleeve "jacket" that opens for the plain front satin skirt. On sale for $240.

Blessings on your day,
